What Is swift code ?
SWIFT code (also known as SWIFT-BIC, BIC, or Bank Identifier Code) is a unique identification code assigned to banks and financial institutions worldwide. It is an internationally recognized standard for identifying banks and financial institutions globally.
SWIFT codes consist of 8 to 11 characters, with each character representing a specific piece of information about the bank or financial institution. The first four characters represent the bank code, followed by two-character country code, two-character location code, and optionally a three-character branch code. The SWIFT code helps in identifying the bank or financial institution and its location, enabling the transfer of funds from one bank to another securely and efficiently.
